informative but not useful

obviously the author loves kungfu and spends about 40 pages on artistic pictures of warriors, gods,etc, about 25 pages on cantonese names of the techniques of the styles he loves and about 21 more pages on quotes of the "36 Stratagems" (a sort of The Art of War".He explains as well as can be explained in a book ,the body structure and positions adopted by southern styles of kungfu, but when it comes to explaining the "inch punch", to which it dedicates about 11 pages , he falls estremely short of practicality. Some years ago, author James W.DeMile published a booklet (39 pages long ) entitled" Bruce Lee's 1 and 3 inch Power Punch" packed tight w/drills, exercises,aids,etc.,required not only to adquire, develop the skill, but also how to apply it. For those interested in the subject I highly recommend you try to obtain a copy of his booklet.

Kindle users beware

I borrowed this book recently using the Prime lending service. While the book has great potential it is nearly unreadable. I assume the printed version is not the same. Nearly every page has at least one sentence that is nothing more than a jumble of letters that make no sense. Often the meaning of that section is completely lost. Later whole pages of the book contained this mismatch of letters. If someone knows how to correct this I would give it a second read but for now I feel I have wasted this months lending library. Save your money until the kindle version is corrected.

This is a fun and well written book with hidden gems!

I really enjoyed this book. The author made this book enjoyable to read and at the same time informative. This book has some valuable information hidden within it's pages and at first you may overlook the detail and indepth descriptions. I also own a copy of James Demile's 1 and 3 inch power punch and although that book cuts to the chase and describes training and techniques clearly, this book is packed with great illustrations, descriptions of power techniques, and looks at the issue from the perspective of different arts. his is a great book well worth the price!!
